Artificial Insemination

Artificial insemination is a highly-effective and minimally-invasive method for improving fertility. There are two forms of artificial insemination, Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) and Intracervical Insemination (ICI). With IUI, sperm is placed in the uterus near the fallopian tube openings, drastically shortening the distance that sperm must travel to fertilize an egg. With ICI, sperm is placed in the vagina near the cervix. Method recommendation is based on factors such as sperm count and delivery capability, as well as cervical health. Although both treatments are effective, ICI tends to have a higher success rate. Artificial insemination is timed with your ovulation and may be supplemented with medications to stimulate egg growth and ovulation.
